Volume I

Volume I began with the launch of the very first Edition of the Publication on February 23, 2013 and concluded with the upload of the 12th Edition on August 13, 2017. If Volume I had a voice and was willing to talk, it would tell of the sheer excitement of its founder that the dream became a reality.  Volume I would tell the world of the thrill of the formation of an elite Team of columnists and artists that became the life blood on the Publication.  It would speak to the many unique perspectives that have been offered.  It would celebrate the fact that the Publication was and remains a Team of all women that have dedicated themselves to encouraging their peers about the male-female relationship dynamic.  Volume I would talk about its segment entitled, “The Locker Room” that sought to explore the meaning behind the words that men use in their conversation with each other, about the women in their lives.  Volume I would share with joy its articles about Mother’s Day and the poetry contest it sponsored for School program in Baltimore City.  It would talk about the introduction of a column with a main character named Blossom-a middle aged woman who reflects on her relationship with her dad-as she navigates her middle years.  It would tell, with pride, how that column became a book series that was offered to student in the Baltimore City Public School system.

Volume I would also speak to the darker side of things.  It would talk about the many days and nights its founder wrung his hands and scratched his head to pull together each Edition.  It would tell of the painful, silent years in which the Publication’s writers disbanded in order to give more time and attention to the matters of their respective households.  It would talk about the many months that passed by in which the founder longed for a restart.  Volume I would talk about the multiple attempts to recruit new members-new author-artists to no avail.  But then…Volume I would speak with a great deal of enthusiasm about the energy and effort mustered to restart the Publication in April of 2017 and the official relaunch of the Publication in May of 2017.  It would speak very highly of each of the new members of the Author-artist Team.  It would boast that the Author-artist Team now includes photographers and painters in addition to poets, spoken word artists, and columnists.  And lastly, it would nearly come to tears as it tells of the day when the Publication celebrated its 10,000^th page view.  Yup.  Volume I saw a lot, did a lot, and experienced a lot for the sake of others.  For those reasons, Volume I retired and is available for viewing on the sidebar for all who wish to share in the memories and the milestones that marked some of the finest days of the Publication’s history.
